Update on spring season and summer camp

5/18/20 update:

Thank you to those who have responded to our spring season cancellation notice with your preference for a refund or rollover to the fall.  Everyone who requested a refund by check should have received those refunds. Please let us know by email to [email protected] if you have not. For those who requested a refund to your credit card, the registration system update needed tfor this is taking longer than expected so we will be refunding these registrations from our bank account as well. Our treasurer will email you to let you know when the bank refund has been initiated and to look for an email from the bank with instructions.

We will transfer registrations to fall for anyone who hasn't responded by May 31.  

The Challenger International Summer soccer camp has been rescheduled for Aug 10-14.  Please contact Challenger with any questions.

The following email was sent to our registered players on 4/24/20:

Dear GUSA families,
We want to thank everyone that responded to our request for input regarding decisions on the spring season. We know everyone is missing soccer and time with friends. Unfortunately, with the current situation, we do not forsee a season starting before June 10. As this is after the end of our typical spring season, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the spring 2020 season.

We are offering two options with regard to your child's spring registration fee:
1. Transfer my child to the Fall soccer season
2. Refund the registration cost paid minus the $6.99 in fees that were applied as part of the online order.

Please indicate your choice of option by filling out this survey linked in the email or by replying to the email. If you have more than one child registered and you want to make the same choice for all of them, you can fill out the survey once and include all of their names. If you want to make different choices, please fill out the survey once for each child. We are waiting on with Sports Connect, our registration platform, to make changes to be able to send the refund back to your credit card. Please let us know if you need to receive the refund by check or if you don't want to wait for the Sports Connect changes. If requesting refund by check, please include a name and mailing address for the check.

Some children will be aging up to a higher division in the fall. If you have any questions about age groups and transferring the registration to the fall, please email [email protected].

Upper division uniforms that you have purchased will be usable in a future season. However, if you have purchased a new upper division uniform from Premier Soccer and now think that it will not be used or will not fit in the future and you would like to return it to GUSA for a refund, we can take it as long as it is in new, unworn condition. Please email [email protected] if you wish to return a uniform.

Looking ahead to the summer, we are hoping to offer some type of summer opportunities for soccer training and game play. There may be a cost for some activities, but as families have different schedules in the summer, we would like to make these available on a week by week basis.
